Default Map Updates

Guys, I know that I have read it here, but like many things, can't find it.

Where do you get map updates?

www.landrover.com/pivimap

Updated mine a couple of weeks ago, already tells me there are new updates available. Takes time to download them via the map update app, but not nearly as long as the app will initially tell you, and took about 20 mins to install on the Defender.

Tink went on bear patrol this morning. Look at that expression. We were watching a herd of 15 deer in the lower meadow.

As noted elsewhere, no pups right now, so she has to take up BEARLY duties.

Do you get a notification on the screen that you need to update your map, like the old system?

Not for map updates.

Even the Map Downloader is made by "Here", the global source for automotive navigation.

Not a JLR thing at all...

How do you know you need to update your map? I used to go to here.landrover.com to get the updates and was notified on my screen that I needed to update the map. Do we just go to the pivi website every once in a while to update, whenever we feel that we need to update the map?

For all the fancy things these cars do, I absolutely can't believe that auto-updating the maps is not one of them. I just assumed my maps were receiving OTA updates. Never once occurred to me I would need a usb stick to get it done.

Went to navigation settings menu and saw that an update to maps was available "New Map Available". So went to my Mac and went to the Land Rover map update website, entered my VIN, downloaded the Map Downloader software, plugged in a 32GB USB-C drive and After the long (6-8 hours) download via the Map Downloader app onto my USB stick, I plugged it in to the data port on the dash and it took about 20 minutes to install, despite saying it would take 40. I just went for a drive while it installed. It hung for a few minutes at 100%, but then returned to the normal Pivi Home Screen. I went back to the Navigation settings and the screen showed "Map if Up to Date"

Anyone else getting a 404 Not Found when they try to download either the Mac or Windows map updater software? I've tried for the last 2-3 days, hoping JLR would fix the links, but still not getting anything.

DRCOOP:
Thanks for the detailed photos!
By-the-way, the USB-A port works just fine so you don’t need that C-to-A adapter.
