I spoke with my dealer this evening. My defender also was on the Morning Lynn and is in transit to the dealer from Baltimore and now has a delivery date of 12/23. I am told that is the date I can take possession. Hopefully there won’t be any damage or issues to push that out any further. As a side note, they said that they couldn’t beat my finance rate from USAA @ 4.49% for 48 months.

Default Price Protection

I ordered my 110 X Dynamic in early Feb. It's on a ship now. Hooray! My dealer is saying that price protection rebate is no longer applicable. Has anyone had any experience with this recently?

Thanks!

Congrats! What's a price protection rebate?

I was not price protected from the MSRP jump in November. My order was placed 10 days before the price increase, so it should have been. Not sure if it was a dealer specific issue or not.

There used to be a list of orders that were placed (and not yet fulfilled) before the MSRP hikes that occurred back in March 2022. Those orders were supposed to be quoted at the original MSRP, or if the new MSRP was applied, there was rebate that would go to the customer to make up the difference. It could also go to the dealer (if original MSRP was honored). The idea was that it went to the party who absorbed the MSRP increase, usually a few thousand dollars.

Can anyone share the magnitude of the price increase? I ordered in Sep 22 and am expecting delivery in next couple of weeks, want to be prepared for conversation with dealer. Thanks.

Just go to the Land Rover site and re-build your exact specs if possible. That should give you the most accurate information, aside from dealer specific price increases they may try to hit you with.

I'd call BS on that. I ordered my 110S in Feb and took delivery in September. I was price protected. I can't see why LR delay should cost you money, If it were me I'd contact JLR corporate.

Agreed. In my opinion, it's just a sneaky dealer trick to get a small markup for themselves, especially if they agreed to not sell over MSRP. Easier for them to blame corporate and throw up their hands while collecting your money.

The day you place your order you should get a print out showing your configuration and price. That's the price you agreed to. I know I had to sign each page of the order summary to ok the specs for my dealer. I don't see how they could come back later and tell me that contract isn't valid. I would argue over any increase from what I was told the day I placed my order.
