Hey guys,

I noticed that the windshields have changed in that there are now no cut outs (if thats what it might be called) to the left and right of the rearview mirror area. So my question is, will a radar detector and EZ Pass work anywhere on the new solar windshields?

I also noticed this on my 2023.5 Defender, I tried it on the glass near rearview mirror and it did not detect my Ezpass, then i placed it on the square mesh area in center of top dashboard and it worked but im not about to mount an ezpass there. I am going to request one of the external license plate mount tags now, have to call them up to request is specifically.

I have no HUD, and no cutouts at the top of the window. But I do indeed have the solar attenuating windshield, I believe that technically what its called.

I have the HUD, solar windshield, and the heated windshield and i just tossed my NC Quick Pass up on the dash when I was in WV and it worked great. Just laid it over the center speaker grill as I don't have many toll roads so I didn't permanently mount it.

Not sure how different the tags are but didn't seem to bother it at all.

Do you have the cutouts up at the top of the window? FYI, my window is not heated.

 

HUD, Solar, Heated and no cutouts. My SunPass transponder seems to be working when stuck to the windshield

 

I had one of the external plate tags on a previous RR Evoque and didn’t like the looks of the bulky device, so I popped off the grill and zip-tied it to either the back of the grill or one of the mounting brackets in that area, although it was years ago so the details escape me. Worked fine, just had to remind myself for when I traded it in to remember to remove it
