What I and some others are clearly seeing is that Land Rover is using two different types of Solar Attenuating windshields. Some have cut out areas to the left and right of the rear view mirror and some do not. Mine does not have cut out areas for the placement of Ez-Pass/Sun Pass or radar detectors. My windshield for the record is not heated, just solar attenuated.

 

Kinda funny. I sit tall in the drivers seat. The first Defender I looked at and drove had the cutouts, and I found them incredibly distracting as the drivers side was just north of my line of sight. I had the same issue with the tint band on an Escalade I had a few years ago....I am glad they are no longer part of the windshield.

Don't wanna thread hijack or anything, but in y'all's experiences with these solar windshields, is this like a must get for an option? I've heard when coupled with the heated element in the windshield it makes nighttime driving a little more difficult with light glare? just wondering thanks
