It might be, so let me rephrase. IMO I would never buy a Defender without the air suspension pack, since it is one of the main features that drove me to the car. The ability to have a high clearance truck when off-roading and, at the same time, not having a big top-heavy-boat lumbering around when commuting or road tripping, to me, is one of the main features of the Defender. And, to the skeptical ones seeing problems in the future, I think LR came a long way and their air suspensions are much more reliable these days.

Pretty easy to do a coil swap in 7-10 years if you run into problems too. And not like (most) coils last forever anyway, at least not a level I would be happy with.

I remember asking about if I should opt for the air suspension when I was building mine and someone whom I forgot the handle stated "buying a land Rover without the air suspension is like ordering a pizza without cheese" 😆

I opted for the air suspension and I absolutely love it. Lowering it to access height to get into parking garage with low clearance and clearing low hanging branches along with my 10 year old passenger who can climb in and out of the vehicle with ease, activating the wade feature crossing a flooded road while the other cars stopped and tried to figure out if they should risk getting hydro locked, coupled with superb on road riding comfort and performance!

The whole "the air suspension in land Rover is not reliable and will constantly require repair" narrative reminds me of "Audi is prone to electrical problems and ends up at the repair shop all the time". I owned an Audi for more than a decade with more than 200k miles on it and experienced zero electrical issue.

Though those issues were prevalent in the past, they are no longer the case in the recent years as car markers believe it or not do strive for improving their vehicles.

Cold climate pack? Well worth it if f you live where it gets cool. I'm spoiled and can't live without a heated steering wheel in winter, especially a day like yesterday when it was 10 degrees. .

I'm back and forth on this for my build. So for the cold climate package, you have to give up the Resist seats for the Grained Leather seats(ones with the fabric). After seeing both, and hearing staining issues with the Grained Leather seats, I think it may be worth giving up the heated steering wheel for the Resist seats.

Will look into it... My old Disco had the heated windshield and i thought it was awesome.
On that note, do these things have remote start?
