You can never believe what you see on social media these days, but I'm just curious if this is a known issue that perhaps JLR has addressed in a software update.

Terrible to see. At least when rodents destroy your wiring looms they don't steal your belongings.

So many thieves and scammers in today's world. My 90 year old father-in-law had a funny observation...nobody goes to church anymore so they're not afraid of going to hell.

I hear the Australian accent - is there a big difference over there between haves and have-nots? Hard to believe people would go to that extend to brake into a car. I mean, it's common on neighborhoods with drug problems or whatever but at least in my neck of the woods I don't see too many cases like this, where cars (and sometimes really nice cars) sleep outside. In some south-american countries having a Defender or a Range Rover, let alone exotics, is like having a bullseye target on your back.

What exactly did they accomplish by accessing the CANBUS? I can see they accessed the vehicle by going through the mirror and ending up stealing both mirrors as well as the personal items in the car. Curious why they didn’t take the vehicle as it seems like a lot of work to get what they did.

I’m still trying to figure out how they get the mirrors off from the exterior of the vehicle.

So -- I took my mirror off to practice for a narrow trail at Moab and -- the 10mm bolts are on the inside of the door. They didn’t break the window. So how did they get the mirror off? Break it? And why did they have to mar that interior window triangle trim ? (The bolts are behind there)

Kind of why I was suspicious of this video at first. I mean, the plastic housing can easily be broken by a pry bar or a sawzall. But yeah... never believe anything you see on the internet at face value

That's a London (ish) accent, not Australian. And yes, there's a hug gap between the haves and have nots in the UK. Not as large as in the US or South America, but people live much closer to each other in the SE of England. Car theft and burglary is a huge issue in the UK, not because of immigrants, but because for twenty plus years the police have just given up on enforcing those laws for the most part. I'm originally from the UK and literally everyone I know in the UK (family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances) has had their car broken into or stolen at some point. I've lived in the US for almost 40 years and lived in 8 states (including New York City and Asbury Park NJ) and I have never had my car broken into. I realize I have probably jinxed myself now.

A good friend in Yorkshire had three different classic 110s stolen from his driveway - apparently they are stolen to order for Africa. He eventually gave up and bought a Subaru as a less attractive target and moved to a nicer area.

Man, that blows. What a world we live in. My bad on the accent detection skills 😂
