So -- I took my mirror off to practice for a narrow trail at Moab and -- the 10mm bolts are on the inside of the door. They didn’t break the window. So how did they get the mirror off? Break it? And why did they have to mar that interior window triangle trim ? (The bolts are behind there)
After viewing the vid, it appears that they accessed the wiring in the mirrors by popping off the exterior housing, hacking the Canbus to gain entry to the vehicle, then removing the mirrors from the inside of the door. One cannot ‘remove’ the mirrors from the outside, they had to access the 10mm bolts once they got inside. I upgraded my side mirror directionals years ago with PowerfulUK’s dynamic sweep indicators and it is quite easy to remove the mirror cowling to get to the wiring loom. Once there and connected to the Canbus, they have access.
