Looking to do exactly what you did with the old-school defender plaque - I ordered one from Rovers North - did you rivet it on or just use 3M trim tape - thinking I want to rivet it like the old ones, but wondering if you did and did you run into any access problems? Thanks

 

Hi John. I considered riveting the plate (Rovers North Part No. RNA0090) to the truck, but ultimately chickened out and just taped it on with 3M double-sided tape. To make it appear to be riveted in place, I pop-riveted black rivets (Rovers North Part No. RRC4583) into the plate (with the plate off the truck), hacksawed the portions of the rivets which extended beyond the back of the plate, and then taped it on. Before installing the plate, I removed the circular Land Rover emblem using fishing line, then cleaned the area with rubbing alcohol. Also applied some 3M adhesion promoter (left over from an earlier installation of Powerful UK's tailgate bumper strip) before taping it on.

Nice Penquinn! Love the Pangea Green and black in the X Dynamic. Looks so good. And I agree the gloss black rims tie the whole thing nicely together.
