New Defender 110 V8 reliability.
interesting, my rear driver side door also get somewhat stuck and needs a little force to open it. my 9 year has trouble opening it
I have a 2022 CE and it’s fantastic. No roof rails however my dealer said they would install them if I wanted them but ended up passing on them. I just didn’t want to pay $1600 for a couple of pieces of metal that you can barely see if you don’t use a roof rack, which I don’t need.
As for QC issues, my rear driver side door gets stuck when opening it but the parts are on order. I have another defender that doesn’t have this issue so not sure it’s on all of them.
Maintenance, the first oil change was done at 9k miles and the second at 23k miles both at the dealership. Second one cost just under $900 total.

I think it is a rubber molding issue. This is a known problem - the first thing the dealer had to do was add some double-sided tape and they said it immediately didn't work and ordered the "fix" which I assume is a new rubber molding. I am waiting for the call that the parts are in.
Thanks all. Is there any good data out there for depreciation of the V8 CE yet? I have checked edmunds etc for lease residuals but they seem to not have good data for the V8 model. Data for the X Dynamic SE is the best I can find.
Expect to take a 20-30% depreciation hit the first two years. The KBB value is around $89k for a 22 V8 CE. The gravy train on these cars holding their value and more, is gone and I do not expect its return anytime soon.
not sure if KBB value estimates are the most accurate. still a pretty low supply of new v8’s. most used v8’s are listed higher than 90k
if JLR follows the same direction as their other models i believe the v8 will slowly disappear and any v8 will be allocated to SV models. the 5.0 v8 will eventually be retired
