Default New Owner Q's - Search unsuccessful

Good evening, from Austin,

I've been on owner forums over the years via several past vehicles, and new to LR. All of that said to lead to my preemptive apology for asking questions that I am certain have been discussed. Unfortunately, picking the proper terms of the issues has proven unsuccessful.

I have seen mention of the following, but would like to have all of the information a bit more recent and easily searchable. Any/all insight is always greatly appreciated. Here are my "issues" I'd like guidance on for my pending visit to my local dealership for annual service:
- FOB not "communicating" with the door handles...the driver door handle more importantly. I end up having to take the FOB out of my pocket.
- Subsequently, having lagging FOB recognition when trying to start the vehicle.
- I have a faint smell of coolant burning off after driving any distance. It's been pressure checked with no apparent issue, however there has to be something going on (I recall a post about a seeping aux radiator? Any others experience this with success at rectifying?)
- Sunroof is annoying. Creaks nearly all the time, and won't close without repeated attempts to close while holding down close position.
- I think I'm hearing a creak coming from the rear passenger door/window area? This one is a "diag in process" currently, as it's hard for me to pinpoint alone while driving...
- wireless charging pad is garbage. I have an EXTREMELY thin case on the phone that doesn't impact wireless charging in any other application. I have heard this is common, but just seeking solution.

My aspiration from this post is to get dialogue/talk track to take to my local dealer. I don't want to leave room for them to avoid addressing something that is repairable.

I'm still in warranty period, FYI. So I'm sure if I give them ways to bill LR, they'd welcome said list of repairs. Haha.

Thank y'all for anything you can offer to the above!

Charles

For the FOB / door handle communication issue - have you tried putting the FOB in whatever pocket corresponds to the hand you're using to press the button on the handle?

I only have that issue if the FOB is some unknown distance away from the door which typically means it is in the opposite pocket of the hand I am using to unlock the door.

I'm not sure, but I feel like there's no way I haven't at this point...given I've tried everything. Ugh. I'll give that a try tomorrow. Thanks for the input, Phil!

The antenna is on the right side of the vehicle (I guess designed for right hand drive vehicles). This almost never happens to me anymore since I started putting the key in my RIGHT pocket instead of my left.

We had (and maybe occasionally still do) a little smell of coolant in the garage when it was new. I actually think you're SMELLING some venting from the overflow bottle.

I doubt it's an actual leak. But if it IS a leak you'll eventually see evidence (stains of it on an engine compartment component or on the floor).

On your first two points, check my posts here:

Absolutely insist with your dealer to perform the TSB.

On wireless pad, update software to at least 3.3.0 - solves the issue with no charging - at least on big iphones latest gen.

Can't help with the coolant and sunroof that is the one reason I am happy I found a unicorn P400SE with NO sunroof.

Good luck

I have the key fob in the pocket issue as well. But it usually only happens when I have the phone in the same pocket. I think the phone causes interference, but I can’t prove that theory…

Thanks to all who have responded! I really appreciate taking the time out of your day to help out. I'm now armed with a TSB to take to the dealer.

I have updated to the Pivi 3.3.1 yet still having VERY high unreliability with charging pad. I have the iPhone 13 Pro, FYI.

I'll have them visually inspect the entire engine compartment for any residual coolant. Sounds like it might just be the venting. Either way, kind of annoying to have the garage smell like that all the time...

Lastly, I feel like I'm zeroing in on the "creaking" from the right side of the cabin. It seems to be the right edge/track of sunroof. I'll continue my hunt, and also continue to monitor this thread for any additional insight. It is VERY stubborn when trying to close the sunroof, so I'll really press the dealer hard on this issue. With this issue, I'll continue to monitor here as well. Maybe there's a specific repair code/TSB for this as well? I love to have hard information when going to the dealership...

I have a MY 23-

I’m at pivi 3.3.0.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro. Wireless Charging works fine. Do you have a case on your phone? Some can be problematic.

I have no smells of coolant. Not even a whiff let alone enough to stink up a garage.

I also have no creaks.

My fingers are crossed.

if it were me I’d have these issues addressed under warranty

I have a 23.5 we got in October, it got cold pretty fast so I haven't used the sunroof as much as I would have, but I have no issues with it. I'm wondering if your creak is related to whatever is off with your sunroof. We only have ~ 950 miles on ours so far, so not a lot of driving. one short 3 hour road trip but we take our big one in a week (2200 miles) and will be towing a uhaul full of woodworking gear for half that so if anything is going to show itself I expect it to do it that week
