Default New STJLR.03.5006 approved Castrol 0W-20 Motor oil

It looks like Castrol now has a new STJLR.03.5006 approved motor oil available. This is not the same Castrol Professional (maybe?) 0W-20 the dealerships sell. And its priced like normal motor oil. Walmart 5Qt 26.00$. This Castrol EDGE EXT Performance will also be an option for our Jaguar siblings.

Interesting, thanks for sharing!

As long as it meets or exceeds JLRs specs, it is fine to use, which obviously this does.

I still wouldn't follow the 21k intervals.

totally agree on the 21K especially if you bought vs lease. I'm old school and just can't wrap my head around that interval! I just did mine at 3800 miles which may have been a bit too soon but always believed after break-in the oil should be changed.

Ordered this from Amazon and they sent the old stuff that didn't have the JLR approval.

Thanks for sharing.

5 years on since my 2020 was purchased .... very interesting to see the time gap which occurred. Next to see is how long it will take for (and if) the dealers to switch over.

Enjoy !!
