Agreed they look good. (Aside from being bigger, at more than twice the price they look identical to the Tuffant Steelies. )

Beautiful Tuffant Steels 18"

Buy a second set of steel wheels they said.

They'll be affordable they said. They'll allow fitment of more rubber sidewall they said.

~$2000 for a set of 4 twenty inch before shipping from UK.

I was all ready to settle for those Tuffants but the expensive difficult British version still looks better to me (how apropos).

I'm willing to accept that they only look better because they are 20's and that function>form because it's a 2nd set for off-road.

Ummm... you might want to inform Lucky 8 of this. They sell only calipers to make 18s possible on the back; they don't even sell rotors that I'm aware of.

Lucky 8 P400 brake kit

You keep saying it's just the opposite. I don't have the Lucky 8s yet, but I can attest, from personal experience, to the fact that my P400 rears won't fit 18" wheels, at least not the 18 I bought for test purposes, solely because of the calipers; the 350mm rotors fit inside the wheel just fine.

Have you actually pulled wheels off and tried to fit 18s on anything?

Please note: I don't know anything about the larger rotor sizes that may or may not come with 22" wheels -- but if the calipers are the same in the rear as the calipers on the 20" P400, you do in fact have to change them out to get an 18" wheel to fit. Maybe you have to change rotors also -- like I say, I can't speak to that because I don't have 22s -- but you do have to change calipers.

Cheers!

i really, really love this thread. i started browsing in search of enlightenment once i realized there are essentially no choices for 19" tires. then i realized modding for a 20" is a rabbit hole i don't particularly want to explore, at least until after the warranty period. my use case is that my cars are tools not treasure, but i prefer not to waste too much of the latter if the former is reasonably available.

so i asked myself, "self, do you need the p400 to prove your alpha-ness or will your abundant manliness more than compensate for the p300?" and you know what? i realized a d110 with the p300 and 18" wheels is very capable, indeed. and there are *lots* of AT tire choices. i just won't be able to tow an airstream classic - and although i could tow a boreas xt i would rather just camp anyway! so my manhood remains intact, if slightly diminished, and my vegan friends (ok, i don't really have any) will appreciate the fabric seat upholstery.

and for anyone geeking out over tire sizes, using a tire size calculator is a good place to start.

I have 275/55 R20 Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S tires installed on the factory 6011 rims, they look great, don't rub, ride quality/noise are very similar to the stock Pirelli's, been very happy with them so far.

That said I'd seen a few people here post about 30mm H&R spacers looking great and not rubbing with that tire size, I specifically remember one with 275/55 R20 KO2's that were fine even in access height. I just tried adding the 30mm H&R spacers last night, and they just barely rub in normal height, it gets much worse in access of course. That's a pretty significant difference to what others have seen with this tire size. I have to wonder if its due to the coopers somehow being a bit wider at the corner of the tire, or are the tolerances just that bad on the defender? Perhaps there is a suspension adjustment that might make the difference?

I do love the look with the spacers, but I'm pretty sure even 25mm spacers would still rub in access. Maybe a 20mm spacer might work, I'll have to remove them and double check the measurements. On another note I can't return the set of 30's that are on the front anymore, I bought them before I had the tires fitted. Anyone in Vancouver, BC that could use em?

After dm'ing some members here, I went with 265/70/r18 running nitto ridge grapplers . On road, no rub in normal height. Off-road use ... coming soon and can't wait!

Bought a few months ago a complete set of steelies with tires and all the hardware ( TPMS/Nuts/Locks/Caps),

Paintjob done in Dark Grey/Black satin metallic.

I really would have liked to have the 32,6" ( 265/70:R18), unfortunately impossible to find in Europe.
So I went for the 32,1 ( 275/65 R18. 119Q )

Just a Mud Tire from Maxxis, not very expensive and with a fresh DOT 2621. ( Bighorn MT 764)

Little noisy on the road... Let's play with it..

Side note: I did have to cut the studs a few mm to accomodate the wheels straight against my 22/25mm spacers.

Hi Everyone; first post here with 2022 Defender P300 in Toronto Canada, first LR!

stock rims were 20"; found a set of OEM 19" off 2020 defender; and also found continental wintercontact 850P 255/65/19 locally; has anyone gone through a winter with this setup? if so any advise? thanks in advance!

Got these wheels as a gift and been trying to fit them on my 90X but with no luck so far. I’m not sure if any member faced a similar issue with some aftermarket wheels, but these were rubbing against the front calipers (chipping some of the red paint off.) Their was minor rubbing with the 275/55/20 KO2s as these wheels are 9 compared to the OEM 8.5 and the rubbing will get worse with the 30mm spacers.

I’ll try and contact the guys at Chelsea trucks as well to see if any solution is available

Anybody know if tires 275/55/20 K02 25mm or 30mm spacers will rub on access height? I use access height quite often due to underground parking.
