Yeah, everything I researched seemed to say it would work - but the offset might have gotten me. Can you post the results of the heat gun action? Like how far did you push it in and did you run up against any metal or non-pliable parts that create issues? What wheels are you running?

I'm not sure this site was posted earlier, but this may be helpful in determining wheel/tire fitment options. Rim & Tire Size Calculator. Custom Offsets - Wheel-Size.com

I'll try and grab some pics of the liner in the morning, but it wasn't really necessary we just did it for some piece of mind. We're talking about probably only a few additional millimeters of clearance with the modification. Doesn't rub at any height, including access height. Wheels are Vossen HF-5's

Default Why Did Land Rover Made The OEM Tire Size 255/60 20?

I have an appointment for Friday to install Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T's on my Defender (275/55 20). After much consideration of the options available and the great information on this thread, Ive settled on the Baja Boss.
During my research I did notice that most of the factory off-roading testing and James Bond stunt drives were all done with the Goodyear Duratrac in the OEM size of 255/60 20.

Does anyone have inside information as to why Land Rover chose that odd size? (other than tradition)
Does it have something to do with an agreement with Goodyear? or is there a design intention for extra room in the wheel well?

I usually trust the manufacturer's design and engineering, but I know they are often motivated by financial deals made with the tire companies.

Anyway, I'm asking because my final decision was between the Duratracs and the Baja Boss. And if I chose the Duratracs, I'd go with the OEM size to leave me some room in the wheel well for those aerials 😜

Default 35 x 12.5 x 22

Hey guys, I just bought a 2022 P400 X-Dyanmic, it does have the air suspension.

It is a long story, but I bought it from an estate where the guy passed away unexpectedly unfortunately.

The Defender came with a brand new set of Rims and wheels. The Rims are VOS HF5 22X10.5 6-120 and Open Country AT3 35x12.5 R22 tires.

I am trying to figure out if these will fit with no lift or offset and what the previous owners plans were. I am thinking they wont but thought I would ask this forum, been trying to search around before I try them. I wont be taking this Defender off roading. I am not sure why he bought these tires (it was almost 7k for the rims/tires) other than for looks.

This site (Thanks for the link above!) says they will fit..

https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?whe...cl=30mm&sr=0mm

Any ideas if these will fit stock or experience?

No.

Not without what most owners would consider fairly extensive modifications.

Land Rover Denver has done a 35” tire on an L663, but I don’t know if anyone else has. Here’s a video I just grabbed, but I didn’t watch it so I’m not sure if it’s the same as the one I saw shortly after they did the modifications, so I don’t know if this video details what had to be done to fit 35s. If it doesn’t, just search for Land Rover Denver 35” tire Defender and check out videos on it.

35s on L663
Thank you! I figured no way these 35" would fit on a stock...I guess the 35" rims/tires will go up of sale!

I just placed an order for 5 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T - 275/55 20, they are in stock and should be in next week.
The super aggressive side biters stick out of the sidewall about 1/2", however, I can't seem to be able to find the true overall tire size anywhere. With about 3/4" (divided by the two sides) increase in tire size from OEM, it is going to be close, fingers crossed it fits🤞🏼.
