Let me know how the 275/65R18 work for you. I am looking at the same size but the Yokohama Gelolander M/T.

Still no rubbing on full turn or access height. Happy with my decision. Wanted to be able to drive is access height in case of emergency. I plan to run rods offroad on trails but all the time and don't want to be dependent on them. Not worth the hassle for me to go 33 or bigger. Without a pumpkin dragging, there is quite a bit of clearance underneath.

I went with 265s because width is where you run into more issues on full turn. On my P38, I ran 255/85 r16s for a true 33 and had minimal rubbing but temporarily put on 265/70 r16s a 31.5 inch tire and it rubs the control arm much more. When I looked at the measurement of the width of the tire near the top control arm, there wasn't much room.

The offsets of 18s to 20 inch rims also may acount for differences in rubbing.

This photo was 255/70 r18 stock offroad tire. About an inch clearance at upper mount.

That takes 275 out of the equation. Thanks, SpikeMD.

Not entirely, as a few are running 275s on 20s. But each tire manufacturers tires differently as well so one 265 could be as wide another 275. Vast differences from the measurements to the actual tires.

Ended up with 265/70R18 KO2s mounted to Lucky8 TuffAnt alloys.

If the truck is in loading height and the wheel is fully cranked over, then occasionally there can be the slightest kiss in one spot. Nothing that will damage the tire or wheel well liner, so I’m not worried about it.

There is plenty of clearance for full articulation when off-roading in the standard or clearance heights.

275/65R18s were a non-starter. Visibly too large (width) so we didn’t even bother installing one to test. Seems like people are having luck running that 10.9”-11.1” width in like 30” diameter tires, I guess. That width in a 32.1” diameter is just too big. This truck demands pizza-cutters. Well, if you can call 32.64” x 10.7” pizza-cutters. I guess they are... sort of.

Awesome! KO2 are great tires, I just wanted a mud terrain as this truck will see a lot of offroad miles. Heading to Baja at the end of the month.

If you’re open to suggestions, I would not recommend a dedicated MT for Baja... You’re not going to see much mud unless it’s directly after a rain, and even then it’s not close to what our friends in the southeast United States would consider mudding. Dunno if you’re from CA, but we deal with a lot of loose gravel/sand that heavily voided tires can struggle with, particularly on steep ascents/descents (which you definitely will find in Baja). I actually picked the KO2s for Baja conditions, but there are plenty of other choices, some of which have a more aggressive profile... What tires are you looking at?

Just put a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLTs on my son's Base Model Defender.........18' Steelies........265/70/18. Great tires...........a bit less $$ than BFG T/A KO2 and outperforms them in a number of areas....time will tell!!!!

No lift rods. P400 with Lucky8 rear brake swap. Redbourne Alston 18” wheels. Nitto Ridge Grappler 265/70/18. Very minor rubbing only occasionally. So far so good. Tried other larger sizes but all rubbed too much. Don’t want to run lift rods. And the black lug nuts weren’t in when they did the install....so yes, I will have them in black.
