Default Not much out there for the factory 22" Wheels

I know I know, why bother butch up the 22s.

Well. Its for looks. Its what came on the truck, and not looking to buy new wheels yet.

With that outta the way, would love input if anyone has experience.

I'd like to make the factory 22" wheels a bit more aggressive. I'd like to throw some wheel spacers on as well as some A/T tires.

I've been through the stickied/common thread on the A/T tires, but no one talks about options for the 22" Wheels.

So anyone with any experience in butching up the 22's?

Would love to see what you guys are running and how it looks/what will work without rubbing.

Only seen the following so far. Its not mine, but I'll use it to start the conversation. "285/45/F22 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, they fit. Can't see any rubbing with wheels fully turned and lowest ride height."

My local dealer (Bellevue/Seattle) tends to swap out wheels on some new Defenders for aftermarket options. I just checked their site and they have some Defenders on some non OEM 22 wheels running Open Country tires. It's at least another reference point for you.

Hey, thats a picture of my car. I have 285/45/22 on there now with spacers ( I think they are 30mm). There is a slight rub on some of the vent fins on the lower part of the wheel well, i cut them off and it was fine. The 25mm spacer woudln't fit w/o triming the lug nut and I wasn't wanting to do that.

Moved the intercooler and about to put 35s. Yes, it's ridiculous but i can and will. I take my car on dirt/gravel roads, farmland, fields, big bend national park and mess around al the time. Works for me. I don't do real rock climbing but i got rock sliders and a winch anyways! you do you....

If anyone is interested in AT options for the 22s and is a BFG fan like me, just saw this online.

Hi,

I'm not on factory 22's, but aftermarket 22" wheels.

My last Defender was a 2020 which I put 20" Redbourne wheels on with 33x12.5 Yokohama tires. For those that have been here for a long time or poked around on older threads, you may have run across the pictures of it in multiple threads. Here is a quick look:

My new Defender is a 2023 90. I couldn't find the 20" wheels any longer, so I went with 22" wheels this time and added Toyo 33x12.5 tires. Looks about the same, but I actually like the stance of the 22" wheels as the offset pushes them out just a bit more than the 20" wheels on my last Defender:

I love the 90! Way more entertaining to drive; even with the 4 cylinder under the hood instead of the 6.

This: "Any lift or rubbing issues on either?" and ALSO, would you mind sharing the specs on the Toyo? Is it the OEM 275/45/R22?

Both had 1.5" lift rods installed and it will rub in access height but not in any other selected height.
