OCTA owners: GAP tool not compatible with 2026 CCF ?!
So I updated the g4 bt firmware/software, can read the CFF but can't change/upload anything it stops and says not compatible.
It occurs to me that this issue might also apply to any 2026 Defender.
Anyone else ?

I've read this in the description of the Diagnostics Associates diagnostics tool:
https://www.diagnostic-associates.com/collections/servicetools/prod uts/jlr00010-jlr-00005-doip-sst
" Secure Diagnostics is a new JLR feature which has been implemented on MY25/26 vehicles onward, in order to control diagnostic access to their vehicles. Our device has been updated to support this. Other independent aftermarket devices will need to register with JLR to have access to Secure Diagnostics and implement on their devices. Failing to do this will inhibit certain functionality i.e. Will not be able to perform simple functions such as Service Resets for example."
Might not be just marketing fluff -
Question is, will JLR roll-out this update also for previous model years?

It is a crying shame that Land Rover are closing down access to their vehicle’s operating systems. It is one of the significant advantages for certain keen customers that distinguish LR from lesser vehicles and brands and they are throwing it away for no good reason that I can think of. They should withdraw this new restriction immediately. What in the world is the advantage to them of such a restriction on the small minority of customers that are enthusiastic enough to bother with this anyway?

Ugh, I hate to hear this. I was not aware.
BTW: Porsche did the same thing with 2025+ models. SO no longer can you use a PIWIS system or any other system to do anything on a new Porsche. People are joking that the 2024’s will be worth more in the future because they are not locked. You literally can’t even pull trouble codes on a 2025+ 911 anymore without a handshake connection back to the Porsche mothership in Germany. Extremely frustrating to shops, enthusiasts.
