It’s funny how this shortage thing has worked out. Last March (2021) I ordered a 110 X-Dynamic SE and thought I was buying at the worst possible time because I was having to pay MSRP on a regular production Land Rover! I had literally never paid MSRP before other than on a Porsche GT car. My order went in March 25, 2021. Picked up the car June 25. 3 months.

Now here we are a little over a year later. Lead times are twice that and MSRP pricing is the holy grail.

Sounds like my journey! I remembered how rare/uncommon the Defenders were in the '90's. It was a short run, much sought after, and a crazy after market value. Used ones go for CRAZY amounts in the USA. Only recently have gray market versions been allowed in. So when I saw the L663 (sorry, I didn't pay attention to all the hype until 2021), I was super sure that it would run for maybe 3 - 5 years and turn into another unicorn/holy grail. So I ordered and was in a high stress mode until I had it in my hands. Since then, they are even harder AND more expensive (as you note). I, too, didn't expect things to shift this fast.
