Currently have my perfect XD HSE 110 Defender on order for $80k and it was due in August. Got pushed to November, just passed the build date with no status update except now due 12/3.

I have the option to buy a brand new XD HSE 110 in 3 days off a lot but it's Eiger instead of Hakuba and it's $85k with no idea what the additional options are or if it has the options I want (long story).

I'm tired of waiting and not sure if my first order will get pushed again.

If I buy this, I can turn around and trade it in when my first order arrives. Dealer thinks I'll get pretty much what I paid and they'll mark it up. I'm paying cash and sales tax is a wash (I get a credit for the trade-in).

 

This is basically what I did (except my order was for a V8) I bought a First Edition D90 off a lot 6 weeks ago. No regrets. Will still take delivery of my V8 whenever it’s built though.

 

I’d take the bird in hand while waiting for the one in the bush... it will likely cost you a small amount of $ overall but likely not that much.

 

Based on the pricing I am guessing you could also sell it pre-owned and not take a huge loss if any.

Ive read the story about the new dealer situation you are working with. What surprises me is they cant pull up the vista order to see the spec or use the VIN to determine what options it has?

 

I think I could easily sell it to a 3rd party but I have to pay Florida sales tax 6% when I buy it and the 2nd buyer would have to pay again.

If you trade-in here, you only pay tax on the difference so I'd only pay once.

They do not have Vista access yet until the day they officially open. Tentative this week.

Why can't you find out what options the one in stock is equipped with?? Just have the dealer send you the build sheet or window sticker.................That would make your decision really easy.
