I was worried until I just realized it was the trim pieces, so even if we mess it up, only a couple hundred dollar mistake. Just make sure to take it off the vehicle first
I have bought several items from Vulkan for two of my defenders. To be honest, these guys are awesome. What's important is that these guys actually listen to customer feedbacks and try to improve on things. I have also provided feedbacks on bolts from ladders, roof racks getting rusty over time. They listened and now all bolts on ladders, gear carrier and roof rack come with stainless steel bolts. They also made a cover for the lower two holes on the ladder. Why do I know that? Because I went to them to get the same things fitted to my second defender and they explained to me with every improvement they have done following customer feedback.
To be honest, given what I am paying for, I would go with Vulkan any night and day because LR price is just ridiculous. I think people should understand that these are aftermarket products. If you want the better one, go for LR genuine.
@Tranv117 they actually sent you a roof rack as a replacement? WOW, how much will cost them for shipping that instead of a simple refund? can't fault that customer service. I recall you were trying to sell the Vulkan roof rack on facebook all defender owners group in the past, is that the faulty one you were selling after the vulkan replacement?

yes they sent one as a replacement. As mentioned, customer service is great, product not as much. They are well aware of the downfalls of their products and do try to get things fixed. Last time they messaged me was in June about my ladder situation and they had no fix at the time.
If they got it fixed, then that’s great. Hopefully future buyers will have better luck then me.
Just received my ladder and gear carrier (lightning fast delivery via DHL - couple days to Ohio!). No issues at all with clearing customs.
I'm awaiting my Vulkan Expedition Roof Rack (separate order), but that is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.
NOTE: if you order the gear carrier, your keys to open the box might be under some heavy tape inside the box, so be careful not to throw it away! I did receive a genuine LR badge inside the box too, and what appears to be all mounting hardware for both pieces too.
@DrPizz. - How do you like the quality of the Vulkan Expedition Rack and Ladder? Did you notice any concerns that would make you think those items may not hold up over time compared to OEM?
Thanks!

Personally I like the black versions of these product vs. OEM so anyone who has these feel free to chime in, I welcome the feedback. Trying to determine if the quality is comparable to OEM.
Thanks
Looking at the picks the gear box has got barrel lock. I *think* OEM is regular lock. I got the gear box from China (ali express) and compared quality with OEM. Its the same. Now whether it will last? Time will have to tell but the quality is same so far. Vulkan photos show the same with barrel locks. I was talking to the seller on ali express and he said there are only couple of manufacturers and all sellers get it from them and resell. What I got is for one fourth of OEM price. In short I'm happy with the purchase so far.
And most of these products come with land rover or defender logo separately and can be affixed
This looks exactly the same as my Vulkan supplied box, so I think you got yourself a good deal there.

Hello all! I am new here, and at the same time, rezz'ing this thread because I am interested in ordering from Vulkan.
I've learned in the past (anyone who at one point owned a Cadillac and had ordered from a company called D3 Cadillac knows what I mean here) that if you're going to order car parts, research on the company is more than important.
That being said, I've heard that Vulkan had "sold" to another "company" or the like, and that there have been some issues (or more than "some") with ordering and delivery of their products. Being as how I am in the US, asking around in addition to Googling is definitely the way to go.
So...that being said...anyone have any insight or feedback? Thanks in advance!
Vulkan was good before as I purchased from them several times.
However, I don't think it was sold to someone else. The two guys on the Youtube channel stole the company from the previous owner this time last year and set up of their own.
Folks on FB groups also commented ordered placed and never received the order and the customer service was also terrible now. Just look at the online reviews this year... so good you are doing the research now.
