Finally got my update last night after a pump fake a couple of weeks ago (went from 2.1.6 to 2.1.6a)... one tip for anyone who has difficulty getting wireless CarPlay to work beyond deleting and re-establishing bluetooth connectivity between your phone and Defender... you also must be connected to the vehicle's wireless system for wireless CarPlay to work (under Connectivity menu, Hotspot / Wireless option). I had this connection off, because I was using the wifi network that was created with the CPLAY2air system I was previously using for wireless CarPlay and ran into a conflict situation every so often. Took a few minutes to rethink this step while troubleshooting... hope this helps anyone who can't connect right away.

Never use valets (see below why). As to the whole address thing, I agree with not having it saved in the car for security reasons: the car already can enter my gated community and open my garage, so if the car was stolen, having the home address saved just makes it easier for them to also break into my home! I just saved a nearby commercial location as my address so I can easily get directions and traffic by pressing the "take me home" icon.
I worked as a Valet in high school. It always felt weird that people would just hand over the keys to their very expensive cars to a teenager and just presume everything would be fine. Most of the people I worked with were nice people but you have no idea what these people were doing if they took a while to get back to the valet stand. I personally only use valet if there is no other option. My wife and I went into the City last night for a steak dinner and my wife suggested we use valet. I just shook my head and self parked.
Valet parking is very American. I remember being in the US for work, and I had to use a valet. They literally took my car, drove it 30 metres to an empty bay and parked it. And then I had to tip them…thank god this isn’t something we have to put up with in Australia. :-)
New for OS 3:
1) you can now have 5 app buttons on the left side of the screen (previous was 3 [press and hold to modify])
2) some new icons on the right side of the screen: Anyone know what the “car with line” icon is for?, and Wi-Fi signal icon (this may not be new)
Quick question for someone using CarPlay (didn't want to bother anyone with a new thread)... When using Apple Maps and specifically guided directions through CarPlay, if you have the interactive driver display or another form of GPS / maps on the driver display, do the directions make it to that display? Or does guided navigation on the driver display only work when you have the vehicles native GPS and directions running?
