Default Our first Land Rover

Greetings all! My wife and I purchased our first Land Rover over the weekend. It's a 2023 110-X and we are very excited (approximately 8,100 miles) This is my wife's ride and her previous vehicle was a 2018 BMW X5 M (prior to that a GX460, and a MB GL550). The Defender seems to find the perfect sweet spot between her past three SUV's. We were cross shopping the Lexus GX550, but she didn't seem too interested. Plus we couldn't find her color preference. Conversely, the Defender's color combo is EXACTLY what she was looking for...so here it is!

Congrats & welcome! After driving my 2021 Defender a few times my wife "stole it" permanently and gave me her X5 M50i to drive. X5 was fun for a few months while I waited for another Defender to arrive for me.

Thanks all! We just took a short drive and I must confess I REALLY like the 110. Prior to the purchase, I was biased towards the GX550 since we had such incredible luck with our GX460. But damn, the 110 "checks all the right boxes" for me.

A few questions for the group:
  • How do you get the mirrors to close without having to lock the vehicle?
  • The rearview mirror seems so dark, it's hard to see our dog way in back. If I flip down a sun visor and use that mirror things are bright and clear, so it's not due to the window tint/etc.
  • What is the oil change interval? Yes, I know we only have 8,100 miles but the owner's manual seems to omit this data. Do I need to keep track or will the 110 tell me/my wife when an oil change is required?
It's hard not to get excited about personalizing the 110, too. Once the wife decides which running boards to get, that will probably be first.

Congrats. I hope you love yours as much as I love my Deefer!

Mirrors -You should be able to hit both the left and right buttons simultaneously right, ? That folds them in. Here --

The rearview mirror is not dark in mine. That’s odd. Very odd. Is there a button on it to turn on and off auto dimming? (with an according green light?) Maybe auto dimming is stuck on? I know I look at my dog just fine in my wayback all the time. (Do you have hte clear sight mirror?)

Oil change is I believe 2 years/21K for the 1st service. So... 2/21 - 4/42 - 6/63. I would recommend halving that to 1 year 10K. Then again 2yr/20K. 3yr/30K. and on. I.’s easy to remember and will be better long term.

There should be a Service Schedule/Maintenance Manual included with the Owners Manual. Most important, read the manual. Most don’t. Answers to most questions will be found there.

Even though the factory oil change interval is 21,000 miles (!!!) most people on here will change the oil every 10,000 miles or 12 months. If you plan on keeping the vehicle after warranty that would be a good idea. Some will even change every 3-5,000 miles, but personally I think that's overkill

This worked perfectly, thank you (Mirrors -You should be able to hit both the left and right buttons simultaneously)
