P300 vs P400?

Theoretically, yes, one supposes that a bit of torque is lost "off the line" if the mild hybrid is switched off. And the mileage might get a little worse if the engine doesn't auto shutoff as one is decelerating to a stop (when the mild hybrid starter motor/ generator is set to provide power).
I wonder if defender67 might do a little test off the line with the mild hybrid switched on vs. off and comment if there is a sensed difference?
In any case, I suspect the P400 power is marked more than the P300 in all cases.
I am looking forward to reporting out on the useability of the P300 I have on order, when it arrives in one month (or so I am told).

I could really care less about the engine size most of the time, but the features will keep my buying the more expensive P400 all day long. The last thing I really need to have is another "Hot-Rod" in the garage. So having one with 33" mud tires that may not handle as well is fine, I just want all of the gadgets.

Crewcabob: Definitely different strokes for different folks -- Gadgets and I are not my friends. I did all I could within the JLR framework to minimize the electronic and new philosopical capability in the Defender I ordered -- while still obtaining an Aluminum constructed 4x4 vehicle.
I know I am going to lose the 4x4 twist **** and the tactile buttons of my 2011 LR4 -- uggh. I am prepping each time I get a loaner from the dealer. I have figured out that given the nature of the farm and dirt road driving I will do, I will need to have glass cleaner always at the ready for the touch screen
Nick4: You may want to read the recent postings on the "2L to 3L" string. Maybe the 2020 300 buyers are soon to have an engine which is an orphan?
Also, full disclosure -- I sold my 2016 Evoque last week to make the physical room to keep my V8 2011 LR4. My wife and I agree to keep it regardless, it is just so darn useful and has none of the esoteric (and deeper) tweaks of the more recent JLR products.
