Default P400e Defender Opinions

Hi All, long time scroller first time poster. I'm thinking of buying the P400e Defender but having seen the size of the boot I'm a little hesitant now. Has anyone any experience driving them or any feedback on the realistic range etc? I understand I can't get 7 seats with it but was also wondering if there's anything else I'm precluded from getting due to the hybrid engine. I'm surprised there isn't many P400e specific renews out there so would be appreciative if anyone can point them my way in case I've missed them. Many thanks in advance!

We can’t get the 400e in the US. My wife would like one thinking that it has better range. I don’t believe this is the case but I don’t know and I too have not seen many reviews. Harry Metcalfe has a good review of the Range Rover Sport version. See his YouTube video.

i don’t know about loss of storage space.

[editing post] I meant to add that PHEVs seem to have a very narrow usability envelope. With only 15-30 mile range, they are really only useful if you do short daily commutes. Each time you get home you have to remember to plug the car-in the wall to charge the batteries. On long drives, the car may start on electric power only, but once the batteries are low, it switches to the gas/petrol engine. At which point you are carrying several hundred pounds of dead weight. So, I don't see the total combined range being much more than the non-e version. Could be less as for most of the journey you are carrying three dead grown adults in the car with you that were not their to start with. The 400e may even have a smaller gas tank for all I know, just to make room for the battery.

There are a few members on defender2.net that have recently gotten the P400e. The pictures posted show a slightly raised rear load space floor, I'm not sure if there is any storage underneath though. I'd be very interested to know if it will come to the US, as the short electric range would be great for my daily commute.
