Default Screen Size

With the 2022 model year, there is a new 11.4" screen that is available. I cant see that there is any additional functionality other than a bigger screen. Does anyone with the newer screen have any input on it? It seems like you lose some storage space, and the overall design is not as nice, when you spec the larger screen vs the original screen.

I feel the same way. I guess they might update the software in the future, and there is storage behind it, but it isn’t as elegant a design. I’m torn by it too.

I have the 11.4 screen and think it's great. When the MY22 changes were announced I remember reading news articles that Pivi Pro was getting a faster processor. I don't know if that's tied to the screen, or just MY22.

We have a MY20 Range Rover with a 10-in screen (InControl Touch Pro Duo vs Pivi Pro), and there is a noticeable difference in screen size, real estate, possibly even quality. Design-wise, it looks like it belongs there. So I'm happy with the 11.4. I can't speak to the changes in the storage, but our car is pretty new and I haven't used the "shelf" to store anything yet.

I have the 11.4” screen. The functionality and processing speed is the same. You get more layout options with the big screen and it’s slightly more accessible than the smaller screen—in other words slightly easier to reach. Real estate is the biggest gain. If the upgrade cost was $1000 instead of $140 I would still go for it. It’s a no brainier. Also you don’t lose any storage over the smaller screen. I don’t understand why people have questions about it. In a previous post where the larger screen was questioned someone used the excuse they didn’t like it because the display wasn’t centered vertically in the frame—really????

My wife’s Velar has the smaller screen and we always thought it was too much of a letter box shape and so not suited to navigation.

The only issue right now is availability. I think the people that ordered the larger screen and have the car already are lucky. The chip shortage issues are going to continue. So personal preference may be irrelevant.

I also have the 11.4" screen and love it. I initially thought that the smaller screen looked more integrated into the overall design aesthetically, but went ahead with the larger screen for easier visibility. Now that I have it I think it looks great and I have no regrets at all.

It really is a no brainer for $140. At the rate technology develops these days, the larger screen and faster processor etc will go a long way towards future proofing the vehicle for several years longer.

Design is one thing that Land Rover really gets and I bet this will become the standard screen size going forward. Most people don't buy small screen laptops or small screen iPad Mini's anymore. We have our phones for that.

The limited time I've spent playing with my 11.4" screen, I noticed it to be faster and brilliantly brighter than the smaller screens. But I haven't lived with the large screen on a daily basis, yet. Will update as I have more experience.

11.4 inch screen currently not an option when ordering at dealer. Assuming it's availability

Default 11.4 inch screen currently not an option

The "Build Your Own" Site, as of Today, no longer includes the 11.4 Screen.
Hope it's a Temp availability issue as want to order a 90S for my Daughter and, based the above accounts, is great cost effective addition.

Can confirm. I placed an order for an X-Dynamic SE last week and was told the system wouldn’t let them add the larger screen. They followed up with LR and apparently it won’t be available again until the end of the year. Disappointing, but it’s not the end of the world to settle for the 10”. I would just be happy if they met the early October date they gave me for delivery at this point.
