Default Paint colour for orangey red tow hooks?

I am wondering the paint code for the red tow hooks available on Defender X models. The reason being is I’m thinking about getting the powerfuluk step kit, but spray painting the cover red to match the hooks.

I don’t know the color code but highly recommend a rust protection sealant on the hooks with or without the steps.

I love this mystery. The color is called "L'Orange". I posted up about it here --> https://landroverforums.com/forum/2020-defender-60/lorange-red-orange-calipers-tow-hooks-whats-history-112437/

I saw an interview with Gerry McGovern (the designer of the bloody car) where he talked about the color -- he called it "L'Orange". It's technically an old Land Rover paint code, a "nod to heritage" and on the X the brake calipers (I think) and those tow hooks are painted the color.

This is the best I can come up with. They painted some Range Rover Sport SVR / SVO special paint cars the color too - in gloss -
And in the USA, there was at least one Range Rover Sport in the color for sale (here https://www.metrowestmotorcars.com/u...svr-c-1923.htm) , and the VIN of the car is this. SALWZ2RE7NA215279 --- based on the for sale listing, the car is supposedly SVO special paint "L'Orange". (but gloss) It sure looks the same, doesn't it?

Note on some misinformation out there. Someone mistakenly said it was the same color as the special edition 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged? It is not. That was Vesuvius Orange. Very metallic. Very different color. Just so you know.

I wanted to paint some spare Porsche Fuchs wheels the color and a few years ago was trying to find the paint code. That's what started me on this "hunt"

I stopped short of ever finding the paint code. But that Vin above to that SVO SVR RR Sport is the key to getting it. It would just be MATTE instead of GLOSS finish.

Now you have re-invigorated my interest. Perhaps I'll hunt it down.

I can’t help but feel that L’Orange isn’t the correct colour. Look at the tow hooks on our X

It seems as though the colour is more red than L’Orange, however I have had photos online that make the hooks look like L’Orange. Are they a different colour?

Maybe it’s just a case of photos being funky. This is the description on the PowerfulUK red tow hooks.

but I still can’t get over how that colour on the RRS looks different.

I second this. I had them installed a couple months after I took delivery and I had to give them a respray after showing some light surface rust last year. They're just painted wrought iron tow hooks and don't have proper rust protection.

Hmmm.. mine are def orangey-red, not red-red. I think powerful Uk is wrong on this one.

The brake calipers are 100% *not* red, they are orangey red. I've parked next to other Land Rovers / Range Rovers with Red Brembos -- mine are clearly a different, more orangey color.). Same with tow hooks. They match the calipers.

Maybe they changed it after 2020 -- but here's a 2020 for sale on carguru's I just screenshotted. Definitely orange.

And here's a 2021 on Cargurus ... looks very orange to me. Just like mine.

And another 2020... L'Orange !

Looks to me like "International Orange".

Note: I'm blue/green color blind. If you ask my wife, I'm full-spectrum blind.

Basically the color is Rescue Orange , with a reddish tone.
