Permanently disable speed warning?
I see lots of older discussions about this, but wanted to start a new one to see if anyone knows of any companies that can code-out the automatic resetting speed limit warning when starting the engine.
I've had my Defender less than 24hrs and have driven no more than 20 miles, but on four or five occasions it missed or mis-read a speed sign and started bonging at me for doing 60mph in what it thought was a 30/40mph zone.
I never speed, so dangerously pulling away my attention as I'm driving on twisty country roads to incorrectly scald me for speeding is not something I'm happy to put up with, especially if it's going to do it so regularly. I'm not against automatic safety systems, but there's no point in having them if they don't work correctly. It just trains the user to ignore its warnings which, in turn, makes them useless.
I'd love to turn this off if anyone knows a way of doing so.

One question, which part of the world are you in? I have had Toyotas do this, but in Africa. Yes it is quite annoying and made be promote the day I got noise cancelling earbuds to a national holiday. Seeing that I had to drive 9500 Km with this going off anytime I went over 80 km/hr.
What will they think of next? High voltage through the steering wheel? Taser in the seat cushion?
If it was mine, I’d be looking to disable the camera that reads the speed limit signs. Let us know if there is a solution.

You can turn it off, but it defaults back on next time you start the engine.
Actually on the Toyota, there was no camera, it was done via GPS, I assume (unless the car was just being a ***K). Perhaps it was some kind of automotive braille system through the pavement. Namibia has a very sparse distribution of speed limit signs, so the camera based system would be mightily confused.
