In my experience, most people are happy to regularly break the 20/30mph limit but have no intention of getting anywhere near 60mph in an NSL zone. 45mph seems more than enough. It drives me crazy - constantly stuck behind cars on NSL roads but then watching them all disappear into the distance once we enter a built-up area.

And you know they'll be the first to complain when other motorists speed down their road.

Perhaps it's a UK thing because I have a 24 and you can permanently disable the speed warning in the settings. It's related to the level of driver assist settings. Also, the speed is done by camera, not GPS, as it will even read temporary construction signs.

Yes, you can totally disable the speed warning in the settings of the car. Check your manual.

As mentioned earlier, you can't. I don't know if it's possible on N. American variants, but you can't on UK/European ones. You can temporarily disable it but it defaults to on when you restart the car - you can't permanently disable it.

Checking my manual confirmed this:
"GSR2 vehicles: The driving assistance mode defaults to High [speed limit warning switched on] after an ignition cycle."
"Non-GSR2 vehicles: The selected driving assistance mode remains in the vehicle's memory and is not altered by an ignition cycle."

So it seems UK/Europe are "GSR2" vehicles. No need to be so rude with the "check the manual" comment.

It uses GPS first but the camera can override it. I've noticed in motorway roadworks, if there's no repeater speed sign for a while the car will switch back to saying it's 70mph even though there hasn't been a sign to tell it this.

GSR2/non-GSR2 is a CCF setting that can be changed with a GAP IIDTool BT G4 or by calling on someone like MarkJLR (above) to make the change:

"Driver Assistance is now remembering last setting for me.
Just as a disclaimer I have no real idea what I'm doing with this stuff but it seems to work.

MultiCAN-889 GSR2 EU Market Ft
GSR2 Country

Changed it to Non GSR2 Country."
