Taken from the Defender2 forum. Looks like generative AI is coming to voice control. I mean AI is being implemented everywhere. I guess my Nvidia shares are paying off since I bought them in 2019 lol. Otherwise it looks like general bug fixes and performance enhancements.
I am not on the fence, it should not exist. It is a train wreck.
Every Google search I’ve done recently includes the suffix “-aioverview” which removes the AI section from your Google search results. Highly recommend.

Yeah, I don't care for it either. I don't use AI for anything, and I'll start using that Google suffix going forward. That being said, I think AI is great. It'll only keep growing. I'm so happy with how well I've done on AI stocks that I'm considering getting a vanity plate that says 'THX NVDA" when I get my Boxster lol.
I note that the ‘Connected Speech’ is only active with the Online Pack with Active Data Subscription from the screenshots of the update. My subscription just expired and I only opted to renew the Remote subscription at $70, declined the Online Pack with the $160 add-on. I had rarely used the Voice Commands anyway so I doubt I’ll miss any benefits. Curious as to how many out there use the voice commands for everyday driving.

Oh boy, I've been wondering when (not if, but when) updates will start to insert objectionable "features" such as advertisements and now ... AI.
My car is nagging me to install an update right now, but this one doesn't identify what version it will install or any features it changes. I don't want mystery updates!

My subscription just expired as well and I was planning to ask the forum if it's worth renewing. I never bothered to set up a profile and don't think I ever used the in-car internet connection.
Are there any other reasons to re-up on the online pack?
There is no reason to renew the online pack. I've been without it for almost 2 years. If you have a Gap tool you can easily add it on yourself like I did. The only time the wi-fi is used is when my kids are in the car connecting with their ipads.
