Default Pivi Pro OTA Updates. Data Plan required?

My Pivi Pro has not updated since Oct. I’m still running 4.2 and it says it is the latest version.

My ‘online pack with data plan’ expired in March and I’m thinking that may be my problem. A web search says that
  • To receive OTA Pivi updates, you must have an active Online Pack with Data Plan subscription.
However, searching the forum here, it seems like others have gotten updates without the plan in place.

I have connectivity in my car via Apple Car Play (I use a wired connection) and via WiFi when at home, so I didn’t feel the need to renew my Data Plan subscription.

Other than going to the dealer, can I get my update without a Data Plan subscription?

I can renew my Data Plan online, however it’s $500. I’d rather spend that on some accessories for the rig.

I should also add that if I try to connect to InControl via Pivi, I get an error saying ‘No Internet Connection’, even tho I have cellular and WiFi connectivity. I can connect to InControl via a web browser and my Remote app is connecting also.

What model year do you have? 4.3.0 is the latest, but the release notes indicate it's focused on Land Rover model years 2020 to 2023. Before that it's 4.2.1

More info here (scroll down for the release notes) - https://www.landroverusa.com/ownersh...ate/index.html

I am on 4.3.0 in my 2021 and I don't have the data plan.

No data plan here and we're on 4.3.0. I don't even have the app setup or driver profiles or wifi enabled.

I believe OTA does not require any data plan but you can also connect to your home network from your garage for immediate need.

Default I have a connection…

Thanks for everyone’s replies to date.

I have a connection via my phone’s hotspot or WiFi when at home. That is why I’m confused as to why I get the ‘No Internet Connection’ message.

Since you have Wi-Fi at home, and as others have commented that they are getting updates without the data plan, you may need to dig deeper into your settings in the PIVI. Make sure your InControl account is set up properly, the vehicle sees your Wi-Fi network, your password is set, the connection is established. You may need to start from scratch, going over all the requisite settings. Beyond that, possibly the ‘module’ that is responsible for that Internet Connection is not functioning. That may require a trip to the dealer to troubleshoot its functionality.

4.2 is the correct version for a 2024.
