don’t believe i ever said you did anything.
it looks like you have been carbon fiber also. Just saying with the cheapest carbon parts i have never seen oxidation that quickly.
Never said Plumb is not at fault

I'm a car enthusiast, all my cars are taken care of by a detailer, my M3 carbon roof is perfect, as well as my x5m carbon parts. If I was using acid to wash the car (like you suggest) , the rest of it will be damaged too.
I did reach out to Plumb before uploading the images and gave them the option to rectify before going public.
Before having to remove the mounting plates (which have rivets and need to be drilled out), I've sent the boxes to the shop to have them painted black and see how it looks/holds. Will provide pictures when ready.

Because race car lol. There will always be suckers like me who fiend after carbon fiber bits....like how I got the carbon fiber package in my 6000+ lb TRX.
I think I'm growing up though, because this is the first car I've owned where I don't immediately feel the need to buy a bunch of useless CF crap for

I sprung for the key, which is avail at a “reasonable” price from Hunters Prestige.
it’s amazing. The packaging, the tools it came with, the build quality.
so now I’ve pulled trigger on the table, again from Hunters Prestige. If it’s as impressive as the key, I’ll go big and buy their rack & ladder. So baby steps.
but so far, been great. Expensive but fair price for the quality and style. I hope they keep growing and developing.

I've been using their tailgate table for a while now - felt good quality and looks nice. Super heavy tho, makes me a bit nervous every time I shut the gate.
I know some of the guys who work there - I think they make accessories that are "aesthetics" oriented and many accessories just lacks functionalities & usability. Tailgate table was probably the only thing I found useful.

but I feel their roof rack and ladder design is the best I’ve seen, like the defender itself, tough looking yet sheik. But then I also want it tough, not just tough looking. So reserving judgement.
how long has your friend had it? Do they off-road and camp with it? Any feedback?
edit to add: I think heavy is good. Would love if the rack and ladder feedback, like your table, is that it’s heavy…. The table’s tied into the super heavy spare in the other side so I wouldn’t worry much. Glad the table is substantial. I have one in a box, putting on maybe this week.
