Power cut under load for P400 MHEV
Jeez. It stinks that an injector can take out an entire $30K+ engine. And no chk engine light or codes are thrown that give you any indication something is amiss.
But that’s life. Bit scary out of warranty.

best of luck!
Thanks OP for the insight to your issue and resolution.
Its interesting, when I picked up the car (Day 1) it was throwing a code for an electronic supercharger failure, even though it drove perfectly fine with no signs of issues. Electronic supercharger (for the MHEV) was replaced.
1500 miles later, it's throwing that same error, however the tech is convinced theres no way the electronic supercharger has failed again that was just replaced. Currently they have opened a case with LR NA. My concern is that the ECU is thinking the supercharger is the reason for the intermittent lost power like you described as well, but its actually due to another issue like a failing injector.
I am going to request an oil analysis and compression test regardless of what steps are taken so we shall see.
Coincidentally at the same time as the above issue, about 300 miles ago I started getting a warning light for "2WD only - drive with caution", which again I do not believe is related to the above issues.

I never had any CEL or codes either - until the cylinder dropped and then I did get a flashing CEL. I believe they did a compression test and determined the issue. They were a little short on specifics but I was told by a knowledgeable mechanic that a stuck (open) injector can flood the cylinder which could wash out all the oil lubrication and seize the piston. I am not an expert by any means.
Yes, you would think with all the sensors and CPUs on these cars they could detect a failing injector. They just replaced the short block so I doubt that was $30k but with all the labor, etc., I’m sure it was hefty price. Thankfully I was still under warranty.
best of luck!

I still believe there is still a fuel issue of some sort hidden in there like you had that will cause another failure in future but we will see. They are going to perform an oil analysis before i get the car back to check for metals present in the oil.
The car was delivered back to me on June 13th with a new MHEV battery. While still not convinced that was the issue I was assured this was "escalated to the highest level at the factory."
We are now June 21st (8 days after getting my car back) and the car has another error code appear and entered limp mode. It will be towed back to the dealership and starting the buyback process, again.
2200 miles total, 800 miles with check engine lights. 29 weeks ownership, 3 trips and 11 weeks spent in the shop. Back to the shop it goes.
10 weeks later, my buyback was denied by LRNA.

I would recommend - at this point - that you have a letter sent from a lawyer to the JLR representative that the buy back is the only solution to this problem that will happen. Have the relevant lemon laws cited.
