Premium Interior Protection/Storage Pack - worth it?
I vaguely remember someone here saying, quote, "rubber mats are crap", however, I can't find that post anymore, and the pictures on the build site are as if it is 1979, no way to figure out what exactly it is. Anyone can suggest to get it, not to get it, or an aftermarket replacement?

I like the cargo mat, divider net, and cargo cover.
I do not like the 2nd row mats (5-seater), which comes in 3 pieces, left, right, and center….and they do not connect to each other.
Front mats are OK. I think the Tuxmat front mats are better. Not so much the 2nd row Tuxmat unless you never fold your seats down or mod them.
With all that said, I’m not sure if you purchased the items separately to avoid getting stuff you don’t want, it would be cheaper than the package.

So, unlike most cars, the defender interior under the footwell is already rubber/plastic/something that's not carpet. So I don't know how much the rubber mats protect it compared to the carpeted matts. Mine are covered in dried salt and it's been too cold to pull them out and wash them and i forget on days like today when it's 70. At the moment, my carpeted mats are still in plastic as I got mine in October.
The rear boot area I actually was surprised how much I used the little multiple pocket thing. My wife loves it for groceries for like milk cartons or melons, and I toss the removable hitch in to it and it doesn't bang around. The cover also has a cloth thing that flips out and covers the bumper so you don't booger it up when you dumbly drag something heavy across it. The only thing that came with it that I took out was the 'cover' over the rear area. It basically latches in half assed and screams 'i'm hiding things under this' and doesn't go edge to edge. Little disappointing I've had better in other SUVs. It's a bit of a pain if you have the third row as it covers that row and if you need it you gotta take the thing out, it doesn't fold over or anything. Though other than to see 'ooh seats' I've not used my third row.
