Hi, how can I be sure of the production year? Where to look for?

There is a plate on the underside of the hood that tells you the production date and model year.

 

The 10th digit in the VIN is the model year. There is no "O" used, it is skipped.

L=2020
M=2021
N=2022
P=2023
Q=2024
R=2025

 

Wow - that highlights the idea that this is the 6th model year for the Defender L663!

LR3 had 5 model years !

Discovery 2 had 6 model years!

Dang !

 

For additional reference my 2023.5 D110 has a P as the #10 digit. So it shows as a 2023

 

My letter is P but first registration date is 05/2022, how come?

Your vin number is at the base of your windshield. Not sure what plate cincyRovers is talking about. In the USA we have an emissions sticker with what year the vehicle conforms to emissions wise. But no month and year build date.

 

Build date and registration date are two different things. A model year 2023 could be sold in 2022.

 

The model year is determined by the VIN. Build date as stated above can be a different year.
