Absolutely true. But that doesn’t mean they can’t sound great:

E-Type
AGREE!
As a modern example - the Jag F-Type with the supercharged V-6 has to be one of the best, off-the-shelf sounding sixes EVER.
My '20 Alfa Romeo Giula Quadrafoligo is decent as well (Ferrari-derived V6 sounds awesome at shifts, but the turbos mute the acceleration sound a bit)

Yes indeed, the Quad sounds superb to my ears, (though I was responding to your “inline six” comment by posting the E-Type.) If we’re opening it to any six cylinder, my Flat sixes have all sounded good except the Turbo (only had one); never could get it to sound any good. The loud exhausts I put on it droned like a sumbitch at the fat part of the torque curve, and the non-droney one sounding whisper quiet at WOT. But the normally aspirated Porsches, especially the GT cars, have sounded great to me. And I agree about all the F-types I’ve ever heard as well, although the V8s sound better.

Back in my yoot, in college, I had an old Mercury Capri II 2800 V6, the first V6 I ever had. It sounded pretty darn good with an aftermarket exhaust at the time. Sounded sort of exotic, because domestics rarely had V6s at that time — all I6s. V6s were mostly Italians.

Default Kahn P400 exhaust

I really like the look of the new Kahn Defender P400 3.0 exhaust. The squared dual tips and perforated shield is well suited to my taste. Anyone have any insight into a dealer/distributor in the US? Defender Parts in California lists the system as “in stock” but also wants $5,050.00. 🙄. Chelsea is asking about $3,200 US plus shipping.

That Kahn exhaust looks pretty cool, but that pipe to the muffler sure is low. I imagine it with dents if I used it.

Anyone figure out how to get a bit more sound of a P400 Petrol without dropping $4k+ on a complete exhaust system?

Hi there, I have the Project Kahn exhaust for the P400. My engine failed and I am currently having it replaced so I had to remove the Kahn Exhaust. If interested let me know. I paid £2400 before shipping and it was used on my vehicle for 3000 miles.
