Default Question for Chicagoans: O’Hare Airport Parking

The 110 height dimension is listed at 77.4”. With access height activated, that can supposedly be lowered to 75.8”. The parking garage at O’Hare has a clearance limit of 78”. Have any of you had any experience parking there? This isn’t necessarily a deal breaker for me as I can always drive my wife’s Macan, but it is an issue.

Yeah, I’m coming to that conclusion, especially since I think that 77.4” height dimension is with the air suspension in access mode. Thanks

Don't they have outdoor parking in other lots?

Yes, they do, and outdoor parking essentially in the same lot. I’m honestly unsure why I’m bothered by this. I think I’m having second thoughts about this order based purely on the overall size of the vehicle.

I park (110 on coil springs) at PHL (Philadelphia) a couple of times a month. I always hit the horizontal PVC pipe on the way in. Terrified me the first time.

The spiral ramp to the roof has a higher ceiling than the parking decks themselves. I drive slowly up to the roof and park outside. I’ve never tried parking in the covered decks. So far, so good.

But that’s one reason why I’m holding off on a lift - I need to be able to drive up the ramps. I’m not sure how much room I really have.
