Raised Air Intake recall (flies off)
The air intake accessory is a joke and purely for looks. For LR to recall this is puzzling. What they really need to recall is the side ladder that breaks after so many uses and replace the stupid plastic hinges of that ladder. I guess enough people filed reports about the air intake to warrant a recall.
The other day I noticed the intake on my wife's 110 was moving around at the top. I keep meaning to ask if that is normal since the dealer had to remove it to replace the windshield.
As for the ladder, I've used it and I'm 275lbs. It's not exactly confidence inspiring thaats for sure.

I have made repairs to mine. It's still useful but would never buy one again. Very shoddy.
Just looking over the text of the recall it indicates "production date" of SEP 08, 2023 - SEP 30, 2024
Does this relate to the vehicle production date or the RAI production date and either way - has the RAI design (or the A pillar) changed over time where the earlier version (like mine) is not affected?

JLR don't care. These failures are like litter in the forums. RAI's failing at every turn. They've been forced to act by NTHSA so their actions are entirely not driven by consumer feedback but by the lawyers. This is a failure of their own OEM part. It is not an aftermarket product. 100% JLR branded, badged and fitted. They finally own it. I know one dealer (JLR Denver) no longer fits them due to the repeated failures.
shocked you did not mention the ladder in this post.Last edited by nashvegas; Dec 19, 2024 at 11:33 PM.
The saga continues... apparently, right now not only you can't order the RAI due to that recall, but it will be forcibly removed from your order even if you did, and even if it is a part of a pack. No ETA in sight.
