Default Raised Air Intake vs car wash

Fyi, if you lose the top cap (item G) like I did at my local car wash, my local dealer informed me I have to purchase an entire kit for $4500. If someone knows where I can buy just the cap, please let me know.

Thanks!

Regarding the cost $4500, looking online, the raised air intake (P# VPLEP0435) is around $700-800, and on ebay around $500. Still too much obviously, but I'm sure you can find the individual part online somewhere.

Also, why not go back to the car wash place and check there for the missing part. Go early when they just open and ask them if you can look around. I had to do this once when my door mirror trim piece (not land rover) came off.

OEM kit is $995 or something; $4500 doesn’t seem accurate even with labor? Did you go through an auto-wash? Maybe it’s still there laying in a corner somewhere. I’d avoid auto washes with accessories like this.

Sorry, mis-typed cost. You're right, it's a little under $1000.

I honestly didn't notice it was missing for over a week.

I vote with @Ahparke . I was just about to write that I've rarely met anyone with a 3d printer who didn't just LOVE crafting things up. Many of them have the scanner things (I know Simon at PowerfulUk does because he said he was scanning some items in his video and that's why it had this "dust" stuff on it). So, then I saw @Ahparke 's post and thought: brilliant! Tim at Defender3D is in the biz and for a few bucks would likely be interested in it. You might even get your very own custom one with a color of your choice! Worst case, if no one could do it, I would go to Alibaba Express and get the CHEAPEST one to just pull off the cap. Might even get to eBay the rest....

Great idea.

On another note, I just saw Matzker's snorkel on Insta.... wow.
