Default Rattle on rough roads

Hi all. I have a 2020 110 SE and have noticed a noise when travelling over rough roads. The sound appears to be coming from the drivers door area and is a dull rattle. It’s a strange noise, almost like wind noise, but is unaffected by speed.

I’ve checked interior pieces in case they were loose with no success.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

thanks,

james

I have a strange faint rattle over the right side top on the drivers side. Tried to identify it but now I just live with it. I think whatever it is, is between the headliner and I’m not pulling that down. To me it sounds like a wire wobbling around up there. Anyway it’s not a bad rattle at least mine and easy to live with.

Both of these descriptions sound like the well known door seal noise.

I agree, sounds like you are describing squeaking rubber door gaskets. Honda Shin-Etsu silicone grease is your solution.

My recent issue was the leather covered trim piece to the left of the steering wheel. Sounded like a high pitched bird chirp.

I pulled it off, added some stick-on felt to the backside and snapped it back on. All is quiet so far.

Agree with @PaulLR . Buy this and keep it in your glovebox (in a sealed container....):

Amazon Amazon

Quick and maybe stupid question - where do you apply the grease? Do you pop the seal off and put it inside?

@gurka01 - Think of it like sunscreen. You just want a very thin coat everywhere. If you knew where the sound vibration was coming from, you would only need to put it there! (jest) Since you don't / I didn't, I put it / you should put it on all of the rubber where the noise is coming from. I put it mainly where the outside air stream is hitting it and causing the vibration or whistling.

No need to do that. You can easily work it between the door and the seal:
