@TrioLRowner - What are your longer term thoughts on the Nitto Ridge Grapplers? Still a yes?

After about 8K miles, I am still very happy with the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They are not yet getting louder, they are rolling balanced and they work much better off-road than the stock tires.

I have had the windows down recently and the noise is not bad at all (and I have very good hearing). The little sound they make on asphalt and concrete is at a consistent, mid-range pitch which is not offensive.

I am finding the same positive experience as described on the internet and as supported by statements on the mfg. website. I definitely give Nitto credit for honesty on their self-evaluation of their different products.

Enjoy !

@allegedly Were you able to make the Tuffant steelies work on the P400 without spacers? That really does seem like the perfect off-road option. Unfortunately, Land Rover steelies require spacers per Lucky8.

They do indeed. Presumably only on the rear, since the front brakes on 400 and 300 should be identical, and obviously the OEM 18s fit without rubbing and without spacers on P300s. So my next project when it warms up a little and I get around to it is to try grinding the rear calipers a touch and get the fit I need. The wheels will bolt up just fine, but they make a noise when rotating so they’re touching. But not by much, because you don’t have to force them on. So I’m gonna dust the calipers, mount the wheels, and see where the rubbing is occurring, then grind it till I can get them to fit without rubbing. Shouldn’t take much.

I did contact TuffAnt (Tuff Ant ?) and they said their steelies required spacers, and they do not recommend it. Due to geometries that change with spacers, there is a high probability of bent rims off-road. Seems like the TuffAnt alloys are the way to go. I’m probably going to order the Lucky8 kit: https://lucky8llc.com/collections/de...brake-calipers
