I had mentioned my clicking sound from the boot and we tracked it down to the winnie guide. Put some auto felt inside the female end and noise is completely gone. Did this fix today. My Defender has no rattles or anything else.

My tailgate was making a clicking noise on uneven surfaces that I solved by adjusting the latch. I’d imagine it made it so the tailgate shut a little tighter. I’ll post a picture when I’m back around my 90.

sorry jay_k, I have not actually fixed it yet. I said it is hard to fix for two reasons:

1. you probably have to remove B,C and D pillar trim pieces before you can pull the head liner down far enough to get to the mounting screws for the blind assembly. There is also a metal support beam that needs to be removed as well.

2. But even if you do all of that, I’m not sure what can be done with the blind mechanism itself. I think it’s just a cheap piece of crap. If you reach up between the headliner and the roof you can reach and touch the roller blind mechanism and recreate the sounds it makes when driving over bumps.

i am really **** about this kind of **** and so I’m surprised I have not done something about it already—well, ok so my wife would probably string me up by the proverbial… if she came home to a car in pieces. Yeah, I think that’s why not.

Regarding the clicking plastic-like noise coming from the seat track area I noticed there's a piece of plastic, like a cover at the rear of the track area where it bolts to the floor. This is loose on my Defender and may be the issue. Still not 100% sure, but I did push it flush to the back the other day and haven't heard the noise since. If it turns out this is indeed the source of the seat clicking noise I'll have to figure out a longer term solution to keep this piece from moving around.

If you loosen the bolts that attach this piece and slide it slightly towards the front of the vehicle (it’s got notches so you can move it incrementally), that might help solve the noise issue.

My rear door was also rattling. Turned out to be the super flimsy emergency-triangle door. Fixed with some foam tape.

This was the exact same issue I had, and same solution.

OP did you ever rectify the issue in the rear cargo area? I recently picked up my '22 Defender v8 and am experiencing the same noise that you aptly described in the rear cargo area.

My suspicion is that it has something to do with the cargo door and the flimsy plastic on the interior, but not sure.

Interestingly, the emergency triangle now comes with the felt pads, as others have noted, so does not seem to be causing the noise.

The base plate for the trunk area is snapped down tight on the floor, although I'm suspicious of the materials under it, as the polyurethane does not seem well balanced over the battery. My other suspicion has to do with the back of the rear seats, although the noise seems to emanate further back. SOOO annoying on a new car.

(Édit: I adjusted the cargo-door guides as noted above, but still no luck. The sound seems to be less frequent, but still enervating from time to time.) Looks like I might have an anomaly and will have the dealers look at it.

Excuse me for being dumb. What is the winnie guide? My rattle is the only problem to date (22 110, X-Dynamic,HSE).
