Rear numberplate
I have a question for fellow L663 Defender owners. Looking at the position of the spare wheel over the recessed rear number plate - does the rear door-mounted wheel mask the numberplate from forward-facing speed cameras such as the gantry-mounted ones on motorways? Has anyone got a speeding ticker which disproves my hunch?
Lol. No. The toll bridges in my region are all gantry-mounted cameras and they catch my plate perfectly. I do not have a transponder, and despite state requirement I refuse to put my front number plate on, so it’s not catching me from the front either.
A manufacturer vehicle design that prohibited the view of the plate would probably run afoul of many jurisdictions / rules / laws. (Eg DOT or NHTSA in the US, etc).
Nice try
