Default Rear rattling noise

Hi everyone,

My 21 HSE has developed an unknown rattling noise coming from the rear of the car and I have no idea where it could be coming from. It seems like it’s the back seats shaking when I go over bumps in the road as it’s a low pitched rattle and not a squeak.

Has anyone had this happen before? If it matters, I do have the 7 seat option and the 3rd row is down at all times.

Mine (also 7 seat) has rattles everywhere, but it is likely your rear dampening shocks. One of mine has failed along with an alleged issue with the shock mount. $2,800 fix out of warranty.

I just got it inspected last week and the rattling was there prior to the inspection, so I don’t think that’s the issue.

Same issue here.

quick self test

drive with rattle. Activate off road height and rattle will reduce.

it’s a shock.

Also rattle more evident at low speed.

mine is going on to be looked at again tomorrow after they couldn’t find it last time.

another known issue that causes the sound of a rattle is the rear door latch. Take it to a dealership and they will adjust the door latch catch.

Agreed - I just had this done. Dealer stated my “tailgate striker was out of alignment” … they fixed that and now, no rattle.

I have 7 seater 110 too, I have been battling with rattling for a year now, dealer tried to adjust the rear seat and eventually they replaced it, but rattling is still there, I just found the screw on the rail was loosing and the housing was pretty much stripped, so it can't be tightened, i believe it's the reason why rattling is coming from rear seat area, I inserted a felt to secure the plastic piece, and finally the good old rattling is gone.
