I often just remove the seat cushion in my 2023, however I hate that the metal (babyseat?) rings/hooks always make a rather large indent in my leather seat backs. Wonder if the 2024+ folding seats still do the same when folded down...?
Good to know. I didnt pay attention on the metal hook things.
Did anyone ever find a solution to this? I've tried looking around recently but haven't found anything definitive. I have a 23 and popping the seat off works in a pinch but a cleaner solution would be nice and I still need to use the back seat regularly.
On a related note, I thought I also saw a while back that in 24 or 25 they added a quick release for the passenger seat so you don't need to wait for the slower electric adjustment to access the back row. Does anyone know if there is a retrofit to add that as well?
I had wanted to maybe try this as well but honestly think it's too much work/cost than it's worth.
Also, for camping purposes especially, which is most important to me, being able to completely remove the lower seat cushions out of the car is actually much more useful, because you can use that rear footwell space for extra storage.
Had a chance to get a good look at the updated seat cushions while I was waiting at the dealership recently and aside from buying all of the brackets and new lower seat cushions w/ the 60/40 split. Looks like you would have to replace/update the entire plastic rear floor tray as well, b/c the new ones have recesses where the brackets are mounted into. The floor tray on my 2023 is smooth.

Thanks for the explanation, and agree that this seems like it’s not worth the like time and expense for me to attempt. But if anyone decides to try it, keep us posted on how it goes.
