I'm an EV believer, and I've owned 5 different kinds now, and have both the R1S and R1T Max Pack on Pre Order. Our fancy new 110 shares the garage with a Polestar 2 and my two college kids drive a VW ID.4.

It's not that there is a recall, it's how they handle it, and they're handling it quite well. They figured out an issue, proactively did it, and because it's the first year and a new manufacturing facility almost all vehicles built have the issue. It's not like they ignored it, people were getting hurt/property damage and they argued about it, they came out and took care of it.

While they both are four dour off-road capable SUVs there are very different markets for the two of them. I'm not going to lie if I could have gotten an R1S this month instead of the 110 I might have taken it, but we want to tow un-aerodynamic off road campers often and off-road, the 110 is better built for that with the current state of the charging networks. You can do it with an EV, but there are limitations/provisos/quid pro quos as Genie said in Alladin.

No reason to create and us vs them over it.

Ditto! I think I'm ~3,000 on the list. It may take a few more years for me to get mine. Probably shake all the big problems by then!

I am big on EV's but also big on SUV's. I have had three Teslas (Roadster and two Model S's) and loved them all....but missed being in an SUV. Model X is more minivan. Had a res for a Fisker Ocean and gave it up as it seemed more crossover so decided to go ICE and awaiting my 90.

I would love to go electric someday, but that day seems far off when products like the Rivian get 100 miles on a charge when towing. And that’s on pavement. Towing an off-road trailer off-road would be a joke right now. Someday we’ll be able tow with these or maybe fuel cells, but not for a good while.

FYI: The recall process is probably one of the cleanest I've seen in a while

I definitely agree the X was a minivan, but at least it had really cool doors. Pulling up at an elementary school and popping one to let the kids out the chorus of little tiny voices going OOOOooooOOhhs was pretty fun. Put a trailer on it though and good luck getting 100 miles. That's why i'm here. Looking forward to figuring it out, but the answer isn't 'moar batteries' because then its longer time at the charger.
