Default Roof: Any regrets with the canvas

Debating canvas vs glass. Leaning toward canvas but would like to hear if anyone who has ordered the canvas has regretted it for any reason.

Thanks

Have the canvas. Love it so far, but I have only had the car 3 weeks and 400 miles. I got the light headliner to keep it from getting too dark inside the car when the roof is not open.

I saw one at the dealer recently and I was extremely jealous of how cool it was (on a 110 X). It's a super cool option and really opens up the interior when it's all the way open.

The only downsides I can see are:
1) I live in Portland OR and it rains so much, I would never trust this on my car parked mostly outside. (Even a hard top M4 convertible leaked like a sieve from new... just the nature of it)
2) You can't use the expedition roof rack which I think really is a cool accessory on the car

Otherwise... if I were in a dry place like LA, San Diego... I would be so all over the canvas roof.

Mine will be garaged when not on the road. Live in CT so not overly wet but certainly not dry. We get minimal snow.

But is it okay for a car to “leak like a sieve” if you only get 20” of rain a year vs the 36” Portland gets every year? I mean, if a car leaks I wouldn’t want to own it anywhere rain is possible.

By the way, I live in Atlanta, where our 47” dwarf’s Portland’s by 31%, and have a house in Cashiers, NC, where the annual average is 81”; definitely wouldn’t want a leaker in either place! And isn’t it funny how the national average is 38”, higher than either Portland or Seattle, which have such a reputation for being rainy. I guess it’s a “light mist all the time” sort of thing rather than what we get back east.

Cheers!

....I wouldn't consider it. But if I lived in a place where it poured down buckets on a regular basis, I might prefer the glass roof so I could have the benefit of the light (since I'd be limited to how often I could open it due to the rain!).
