What do you Voyager peeps think of their new ladder. I know I don’t like the OEM, and the lucky8 ladder looks kind of useless since it’s so narrow, but can’t decide if I like the voyager. I do like the classic steel bar look in general which is why I got the voyager rack, but the ladder may be an acquired taste. I’ll probably get it anyway, but waffling.

Ehloo:

I bought and installed a full-rack for my LR4, years ago. I used it very effectively very often because I really needed to. But, the noise drove me bonkers. In the end, after years of modifying it, cutting it up, making it smaller, trying to add air diverters, etc., etc. I disposed of it and bought a trailer.

All racks are noisy, maybe some more than others, and all seem to claim they are not noisy. Just something to consider ....

What's the length of the bars?

Nice low profile and I see that you don't have the sunroof. I wonder if 1/2" is enough clearance for the sunroof to open.

This is Thule Wingbar Edge 9595 M + L
There is 2" clearance, check your sunroof for max. height.

I have the Voyager and it's great. Much better than the OEM, Lucky 8.

Did the voyager rack mount get taller on later revisions?

Forget the rack, I like those tires! :P

What brand/size are those? I have 20'" rims, would be a nice upgrade, thanks.

Nitto Ridge Grappler 285/45/R22. Makes the car with current 22" rims much more aggressive.. I'm actually thinking of downsizing to 18" or 20" rims and try to squeeze in some 33" tires. Not sure yet. These 22" work on ranches / farmland and haven't failed met yet.

Looks like the voyager has gotten a little taller doesn't it? I wonder if that added height means the lucky8 rear ladder could sneak in underneath...
