Default Routing cables from roof to trunk

Hi, I was planning on mounting one of the Starlink Mini’s on one of the back wings of the expedition rack, then routing a USB-C cable into the trunk — what’s the best way to route a cable inside through the back of the car?

@PowerfulUK has this video of mounting the Plumb side boxes:

During it, Simon shows a grommet that is up high. I'd try and use that. Although you might need a new panel, as they seem to break easily.

Awesome! Thank you. Any tips for where to route the cable into the panel when I remount it?

I've pulled that panel on a couple of defenders now and haven't broken one. You could probably just glue it back together.

thanks! Would I need to drill through the factory roof rails? Or do you think there’s room to slide the cable into the pillar plastic when I re-attach it?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you would have to drill the rail. I'm using the front runner rack without roof rails. It leaves a pretty big gap and I haven't had any water leaks. So I wouldn't worry about a adding hole to the rail.

Default Roof rack lights

2 Gromits going into the body

Don’t do this they put it in the wrong place I wanted it on the back plastic piece so that way it would not Pierce the roof.

This is plastic so it’s ok to go here.

Do you know what gauge wires you were able to fit through?

I ran a a pair of 10 awg wires that had pretty thick shielding and there was plenty of room. They were for solar. You could probably fit larger wires with a bit more effort.
