Default Rusty exhaust on 2020 110 Defender

Hi everyone new to the forum and wondered if anyone had experienced rust like this on your defender. I’m thinking of buying this one but I’m questioning why it has this much rust at only 4 years old.
I’m told it’s not covered by warranty but have seen something in the warranty saying it is covered.
Thoughts and advice appreciated thanks!’

That is a lot of rust, but I would imagine it is generally cosmetic. You can always take Mick’s advice and “…paint it black...”. I’ve seen a few others do the same and it looks great.

That does seem a bit abnormally rusty compared to others I've seen. Mine has a bit of rust around one of the tailpipe openings (it's a P400) but just a tiny bit on the weld.

I don't think warranty would cover this as agree, it's fairly normal for an exhaust.

Do you know where the car spent its life in prior ownership? Was it a salt state?

That is what both of ours look like here in the Northeast. Matches our rusty tow hooks that I do plan to repaint black.
