Could be but last time I checked they were 20's with 32's...

I think it's internet rule 1. Every forum gets at least one

A set of these with a Sarek 2" coil lift in red would be

How's the testing going? Can you share video of the dynamics. How it handles high speed rough roads, etc.

Ronin Defender,

I applaud Ralf for being as diplomatic in response as he was. I won't. It's an extremely arrogant statement to say that anyone with coils was too cheap to spec with air. I've owned Defenders with both, and I specifically wanted coils on my second truck. For what I do and the way I use my Defender, it's the better choice.

I have been left stranded with a blown air strut hundreds of miles from any dealership or shop with the capability to fix the issue. That only has to happen once for you to rethink air. If I break the suspension on a coil sprung truck, I've done something foolish and probably deserve the wrath of the trail.

And yes, I will be spending the money for the shocks and coils with increased lift. I'll also be purchasing the selectable air locker for the rear. And yes, it will wind up costing more than having bought my Defender with air suspension and the electronic rear differential. I don't care. I will have the truck that I want, built to do what I do.

I learned early on growing up in Texas that the guy in the beat-up truck, faded jeans and wrecked boots very well could be the wealthiest person in town.

Don't make assumptions about people based on how they look or what they drive. It's small minded.

Dude your response should be directed at the coments towards me, sure if you only drive rough dirt roads a completely manual Defender is the way to go just as my old CJ5 was but most new Defender owners are not hard core rock crawlers looking to be the next King of the Hammers..Buy an old CJ5-CJ7 for the rocks, you'll be able to buy parts just about anywhere in Bum Chuck.

I'm not a rock crawler. Again with the assumptions.

I'm done. You think you have all the answers, and there isn't anybody that can convince you otherwise. I'm sure you are a real peach to hang out with.

Sarek - do these have DFV? I had a set of Ohlins Road and Track on a WRX. They were really well made. Fantastic for on road comfort and quite capable on a back road. Won class and chased FTD at autocross despite having a stock engine. However, for square edge bumps like uneven bridge expansion joints, the shocks really blew through their travel related to the DFV design. Just curious how that would work in an off road application. Thanks
