Default Seat heating/cooling stopped working

The heat/cool function on the passenger (right) seat appears to have stopped working. Pushing the **** selects seat heating/cooling as expected, but turning the **** in either direction doesn't light up the blue or red bars. The drivers seat selector **** works just fine. I last used it a few months ago, so I can't tell if it is the result of a software update or something else. Anyone else seen this problem?

Does going through the screen, clicking on seats icon work for you or is that not functional as well?

In the seats app the passenger seat up/down arrows work and, when selected, the seat pad pictures turn red or blue and the power icon lights up, but only for a second or two, and then it turns off again. The drivers seat works as expected.

I checked the service manual for troubleshooting guidance. All the wiring seems to be connected under the seat. It's not the fuse (R10), and it seems most likely that it is the HVAC sensor (there's only one for each seat in the seat pad) - that apparently will kill heating for that seat if it goes out. I couldn't find any mention of the seat cooling system in the service manual, but if the HVAC sensor is out it wouldn't be surprising if the HVAC control module disabled heating and cooling. Alternatively it is a strange software issue with 3.0.

Is the passenger seat upright or forward at all?

I had a similar issue but with the massage function on a 2022 Discovery passenger seat. Couldn't get the massage function to turn on, the car thought that the seat was too upright. Once the passenger seat was reclined slightly, the massage function worked.

No - it's in a normal position. And I've moved it around to look underneath at the wiring - that didn't change the behavior.

Resolved I think - I did a full Pivi reboot with the engine off, and now it seems to be working normally.

For other readers benefit, what is a full Pivi reboot and how does one perform it? Does it delete all other settings, such as Profile, seat setting memory, Bluetooth device pairing, navigation settings, etc? I’m curious about what you did and how you did I it and it’s effects, and I’m sure others will be, also. Thanks.

Yes - I should have been clearer what I meant. It wasn't a system reset, which would delete data, just a Pivi reboot. But there appear to be at least two levels of reboot; you can reboot the Pivi by holding down the power button for 15 - 20 seconds until the Pivi screen goes black, but the result is different depending on whether the engine is running or not. In this particular case a reboot with the engine running didn't cure the problem. A reboot with the engine off fixed it.
